The III Generation was originally named Vibrations, then T-Birds. We played the Gaslight, the Red Carpet, Pierce County Fair (hosted by Pat O'Day), and numerous area high schools. Once we had a gig on Channel 13 with Randy Viers "Rock a Go-Go".
In 1965, at Karney Barton's "Audio Recording" , we cut the demo recording for, and then backed up in concert, "Freedom Child" Alexis at the UPS Field House and Seattle Center. We had it made. We were chased by girls in Tacoma and our drummer got his coat ripped. We partied in the green rooms at the Coliseum with Dennis Wilson, Carl Wilson, Gary Lewis, Jeff Beck. We partied at the Hyatt at the airport after the second show. The we graduated from high school and after one last gig at the Red Carpet, I went off to college on the East coast.
Steve Northrop's cousin, Wayne Northrop, later played the Chauffeur in the first season of Dynasty and the original Roman Brady character on Days of Our Lives. Steve's uncle Larry Whitman was a drummer, subbed for the Ventures once and, when he worked for Prossers in Tacoma, sold me my Jazz Bass. Scott started college in Tacoma; the drummer joined the Coast Guard, and I lost track of the guitarists.
