about 1963
In the late 50’s Bud played with “The Highlanders”, a Kingston Trio cover band. From 1961 to 1963 he was lead singer with “The Deltas”. They changed their name to “Aesop and the Fables” in 1963. Also in the band were Bill McNeil on his mother’s Hammond B3, and John Dahl on bass. Bud passed away in September of 2004.Stew Dodge, Stew Dodge Sound, October 2005
In 1963, The Deltas changed their name to Aesop and the Fables. Members were: Pierre (Pete) Ouellette, lead guitar, Larry Warner, keyboards, John Dahl, bass, Bill McNeill, drums, and Vincent (Bud) Molinari, lead vocals. Bud left the group shortly before our recording session in Seattle was scheduled in the fall of 1966. We recorded "Grass" and "You'll be my Pride" later in 1966 in Seattle. I sang the lead on "You'll Be My Pride" and Larry and I sang the backups when we completed the recording. "Grass" was an instrumental; Pierre wrote both songs. We were all in college (John and I at Lewis & Clark, and Pierre and Larry at Portland State), so the group disbanded soon after that. Pierre and I stayed in touch and played a few gigs together in Portland in the next couple of years.

My father, Larry Warner, was in a band called Aesop and the Fables (previously called the Deltas). Pierre Ouellette, who went on to play with Paul Revere and the Raiders, was the guitar player.

My father recently sent me these pictures (above & below), and I thought you might want to add them to your website.
Two of the photos are of when they opened for the Beach Boys at the Portland Memorial Coliseum.
