I was co-founder of the band, along with Joe Dean on bass & Randy Ballard on flute & blues harp; we got together in my apartment in the U-district for the first time; then we added Larry Mitchell on drums & Tim Turner on guitar & Ron Larsen on conga & percussion. Please add instruments played after their names for Randy Ballard, Joe Dean, Ron Larsen & Larry Mitchell. Child was somewhat unique because of the number of original tunes that we performed in clubs & concert. That group stayed intact for a while & besides the club dates, we played Skyriver Rock Festival II, & opened concert shows for Big Brother & the Holding Co.; Fleetwood Mac; Savoy Brown; Jim Morrison; Charles Lloyd; & others. I don't have dates, but it was in '70, '71. That group broke up when we replaced Larry Mitchell with Michael Deroshier on drums; then Mike & I finally left the band to form "Thunder".
I'm now a private keyboard teacher in Silverdale/Poulsbo, & have a home studio in Poulsbo where I do recording projects for bands & songwriters.
