FRAMS
Vancouver, BC

Some of the bands that this place during those great years were:

Guess Who
Headpins
Heart
Hit & Run
Shakedown
Spitfire
Stonebolt
Thin Red Line
Trooper
Zingo

Others??

FRAMS nightclub was in the basement of the Fraser Arms Hotel in Vancouver, BC.  FRAMS is short for Fraser Arms Hotel).  It was a well known spot.  We (SPITFIRE) played there as well as TROOPER, STONEBOLT and countless other bands through the 1970s and 1980s.

FRAMS - was a great live venue, but with the demise of live rock in the 90s, it was closed.  When I worked there, it was converted to apartments for staff, and a gym area for the exotic dancers that performed upstairs.  It is now the home of a local boxing gym.

Frams was another of Bruce Allan's rooms.  We played there quite often (Shakedown). The cabaret was downstairs in the basement, and the room was long and narrow. The stage was in the middle of the room against the wall. Since the ceiling was quite low, the light cooked anyone on stage.

All the A bands played there:   Heart, Trooper, Hit And Run, The Guess Who, Zingo, Thin Red Line ....and many more.....
