Lipstick, formed in late 1983 by Bellevue, Washington, musicians Paul Passarelli, lead vocals; Brett Miller, bass; skinslammer Jeff "The Bull" Cardelli, aka "Rex Havoc," on drums; and Dave Van Liew, Brock Graue, and Marco Von Violence, respectively, on guitars, quickly gained notoriety and heavy summertime airplay in Seattle on radio station KISW as Seattle's version of the ultimate rock outlaws, Motley Crue.  With their "Endless Party" credo and donning wild make-up and clothing, Lipstick performed many opening gigs for Northwest rock favorite, Rail, MTV's Basement Tape winners, and were the featured artist on the internationally distributed 1984 metal compilation release, Ground Zero Records' "Northwest Metalfest," also including demo tracks from early incarnations of Metal Church and Alice n' Chains.

Relocating to Hollywood, California, in 1984-85 for a long stint in the Los Angeles "hair-band circuit" of the mid to late '80s, and partying and rubbing elbows with everyone from Guns n' Roses, Dio, and Poison to W.A.S.P and Cinderella, Lipstick eventually disbanded to pursue diverse musical interests.

Drummer Rex Havoc fielded several offers to play in world-reknowned hard-rock / heavy-metal bands (most notably, the true godfathers of thrash metal, Swiss band Celtic Frost), but elected to return to the peaceful environs of beautiful Washington State, where he has been playing rockin' blues and funk in small clubs (most recently with the re-formed King Biscuit Blues Band and founding guitarist Paul Cowie) since the mid-'90s, and now is the heartbeat for heavy rockers 404 - 404Rocks.com -the seminal, Seattle-based metal act currently signed to a management deal with legendary Boyd Grafmyre (producer of the original Seattle Pop Festival) and his new production company, Starwise Media, of Vancouver, British Columbia.  404 recently recorded their debut CD, "404," at The Meatlocker in Silverdale, Washington - MeatlockerRecording.com - with an expected release date of late spring/early summer 2004
