Formed in 1983 The Mark Shaffer Band played original Pop Rock music in the Seattle area until 1985. A STRONG trio we performed in the usual places, Astor Park, The Hall of Fame, Hibble & Hyde's, The Central and the Rainbow, as well as the Seattle Center Mural Amphitheater. With Ed Young of Fragile Lime/Blue Mountain Eagle fame we had the perfect power drummer for a trio.
Mark was and is solid rhythm guitar player with a melodic feel in his lead playing and a strong clear vocal approach.
That left me Bob "The Cellar Dweller" to just lay it down with Eddy and drive the thing, it couldn't have been easier.
At least in my mind I remember this thing as a "Kick Ass Band"
We recorded one record for Buck Ormsby's re-born Ettiquette label. I believe that record achieved Triple Cardboard sales if I'm not mistaken.
Eventually we parted ways for the usual reasons but we remain friends and see each other to this day.
Mark is currently performing in 2 bands Groovestock and the Motown Cowboys.
I am out here several times a month in the original band Custom.
