The band originated here in Campbell River around 1963 or so and last played together a couple of weeks ago at the 48 year reunion for the local High School.  Not too many bands still playing together after nearly 45 years I'd guess.

The band was very popular on Vancouver Island and, as you'll note in the clippings, came in third of about 130 bands during a contest that lasted seven months.  Note the mention of Bill Haley in the one article. Talking with Bill Goodman yesterday he told me they actually were asked by Bill Haley to have dinner with him, as he claimed he liked them best of all the bands he heard.  Bill laughed and said they were all too stunned to think of getting a picture taken with him or an autograph.  Small town boys and all that.

The band is:  Bill Goodman on drums, Norm Fair on bass guitar, Brian Philip on lead guitar and Terry Kajiwara on rhythm guitar. Ron Atchison was the vocalist and still sounds good today.

During the years a few other players came and went but the original five guys are still playing.
