During the 1980's, Paul, Dan, Randy and Jack were all in the Metal band "Strychnine" (with Mark Baker - who left to join "Metal Church"), and later, reformed as "Myra Mainz". Jack Coy went on to play with "The Panic", which signed with Metal Blade Records, (distributed by Warner Bros. Records). Long after Strychnine's break-up, Dan and Pete started writing music together, and began forming Fountainhead. While not a grunge band, Fountainhead played their original music in many of the same clubs around Seattle that were home to the grunge movement. Fountainhead's main influences were The Cure, NIN, Faith No More, Echo and the Bunnymen, Oingo Boingo. Fountainhead was one of the only known Seattle bands with three brothers in the line-up.Pete Lamberty, May 2004
Some of the other Pacific Northwest music groups represented in this band include: Madcap, Strychnine, Metal Church, The Panic, and many other NW bands.
