I worked with Bruce on a fishing boat in Alaska in 1992.  He had an electric guitar but no sound.  Some of the guys were speculating that he couldn't really play.  We we got off the boat we went camping on Mt Baker outside Bellingham.  We both had quite a bit of cash but wanted to save our money for beer in town.  Bruce had picked up three acustic guitars in an auction in Seattle and one afternoon besides a river running down from the mountain, started playing Spanish guitar music for about 15 minutes straight.  He definitely stunned me with his ability.
