I started and led the Newports in 1963. I left it to join Mr. Clean and the Cleansers in 1964. The Newports carried on for a couple of more years after I left. Mike Beck and John Kennedy from the Brave New World were in the band when I was. Also, Tom Blessing (Tom Thumb) of Tom Thumb and the Casuals. He played sax and sang in the Newports before releasing the record "Movin' On."George M. Guilmet, February 2005
