Our house burned down in ’79, after I had been talking to Dave about his new band in the Bay Area.   I called him and he invited me to join Spys, which he was re-forming.  I replaced Davie Sykes (last heard playing with Boston).

Spys played all the hot spots in the Bay Area.  We had a lot of support from people who had come from the Journey organization:  road manager, publicist, etc.  But alas, it came to naught.

Billy Carmassi went on to play with Aldo Nova.  Mark Karan plays with RatDog.
