Formed in the early 1980s, The Results were an energetic, artsy rock band from Portland consisting of Leonard Marcel, guitar; Joe Taylor, vocals; John Mazzocco, bass; Glenn Rueger, synthesizer; Scotty Frost, drums; Wayne Anderson, production manager and, later, sound & occasional vocals; Todd Thornton, sound; and the late August Encalada, lighting, and resident artist. Later lineups included Charlie DeFrank, drums; and Mike Chriss, bass.
The Results played at Portland art scene parties and in clubs around Portland, (mainly at Labamba’s where they opened for Echo & the Bunnymen and for The Ventures) and in Eugene, and Vancouver, WA. The Results were managed by Diane Holland.
Each front line member wore a primary color. The bass player wore green, a mix of the colors blue (vocals) and yellow (keys). The drummer wore purple as a mix of blue and red (guitar).
Some Results songs were: "She was a Basketball Lady who got Bit by her Dying Dog", "Bop Tempo", Art Attack", "The Runner", a very fast song about a newspaper delivery boy who becomes inadvertently involved in the underworld, ""Queue Up", about waiting in line for everything, and "Army Get it On", decrying war and violence.
Some of the other Pacific Northwest music groups represented in members, crew, etc., of this group include: UPEPO, Johnny & The Distractions, and many other NW bands
