John Scott Sevenich, born May 28, 1948, died of cancer May 19, 2009 in his home in Ridgefield, Washington. Scott was born in Everett, WA. He attended Immaculate Conception School and then attended and graduated from Everett High School. Scott attended Santa Clara University in CA for one year then completed his college studies at Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA. He graduated with a teaching degree.After teaching in Everett for a period of time, Scott moved to Vancouver, WA where he taught for the Vancouver School District. Scott was currently teaching seven and eighth grades at Discovery Middle School in Vancouver and received citations for dedication and excellent work with students.
Scott was a self taught guitar player and enjoyed entertaining and performing with his various bands and groups through the years in the Northwest and British Columbia, and most recently at functions in the Vancouver area.
Scott also loved the outdoors, snow skiing, sailing on his boat "Third Wish" and racing and crewing with others.Scott is survived by his parents, John and Shirley Sevenich of Everett; sister and brother-in-law, Paula Jo and Bryan Rosenkranz, of Olympia, WA; two nieces, Shelley Rosenkranz Moritz and Gretchen Rosenkranz Pitken; and his sister, Julie A. Sevenich Damon, of Seattle, WA.
John Scott's friends have organized a Memorial and Celebration of Life Gathering in Vancouver on Saturday, May 24. Private services will be held in Everett at a later date.
Memorials may be sent to your favorite charity in honor of Scott.
