The Checkers were our small-town sock hop band from Oak Harbor High in '64 and '65.  I remember them opening for the Bootmen and Mr. Clean, etc. at the local Roller Barn

 In addition to the Oak Harbor Roller Barn, we also stayed very busy working most dance halls, college gigs, parties, etc. throughout the Northern Puget Sound region.
