I was 19 or 20 years old when I joined to play drums for my older brother, Mike Gross, and Steve Boyce to form the band 7 Grand.

Seven Grand lasted until the Spring or Summer of 1977 when they dropped the horns and became Fancy Dan.  It was a cool band that played the Holiday Inn and Sea-Tac hotels circuit.

The band was booked by Don Consola.  Don and his wife, Donna, owned and operated the Red Carpet (aka: The Break Thru) in South Tacoma, Washington from 1964 until its closure in the early 1970's.
