In the summer of 1970 Charlie Kirk and Doc Van Etten , the guitar player and Drummer for the Seattle group called Sadartha's Child, took a road trip to Lubbock, Texas. There they met Brad Jones, Gary Porter, and Bobby Holland. They formed a group called 'The Walrus Brothers.'The Walrus Brothers toured for three years across the states and Canada. They performed with Sugar Caine Harris, Sly and the Family Stone, Joe Ely and lots of others. The band moved to Redmond Washington in 1971.
Their first gig in Seattle was the Fremont Tavern. The first recording studio they used was called ' Have a Nice Day' to record the Amber Wings record.
