The band was based out of the lower mainland but played clubs and festivals all over BC and WASHINGTON during the THE 80'S.

BackSeat Driver was a powerful driving force in the Vancouver Country music scene for many years.  Some of their recordings were "Let it Ring", "Party Man" and "Don't you worry about me".  Other highlights for BSD was opening for Vince Gill at the Commodore and a 6 month gig at the 1992 EXPO in Sevilla Spain.

Sadly, we lost Gaylord Wood and Randy Montana much too soon; Gaylord in 2001 to lung cancer and Randy in 2000 in a motor vehicle accident.

The BCCMA now presents THE GAYLORD WOOD MEMORIAL AWARD for traditional country.
