Greg Lloyd
May 25, 2015 Greg Lloyd, bass player for SOFT WATER (1960’s) passed. He was a great friend and a hard working bass player. We had the best of times together, traveling around the Pacific Northwest gigging playing great music. He will surely be missed by so many friends and family members.Barry Clemons, July 2015
SOFT WATER was a Spokane based band. We got booked by Mike Cavender’s agency and gigged around the Northwest is a few bars, high school dances, proms, etc., such as:
Bullwinkles Lewiston, ID.
Rafters (YWCA), Spokane
The Cog, Gonzaga College Campus
Gonzaga Prep High School
Notre Dame U. College Nelson, B.C.
Oroville, WA. H.S. Prom
Moses Lake H.S. Dances
Sandpoint, ID (bar ..don’t even recall)
Missoula, Mt. college bar (Rocking Horse?)
The Armory, Trail, B.C.
Judges Chambers, Spokane... and quite a few other places around the Northwest.
I remember many of the venues on this site, as well as the bands.I hung out with friends at Goofy’s in Spokane, the El Patio (Idaho state line).
I saw Hendrix, Vanilla Fudge, Steve Miller Band, at the Spokane Coliseum. I also saw Joe Shikany and Kentucky Blew Grass there. They opened for a big act but I don't recall who it was. I also saw Merrilee Rush and the Turnabouts there at the Coliseum.
Other band members I knew somewhat were Frank Trowbridge (Sleepy John), Lee Perkins (Shyanne), Kevin Dodson and Curtis Graham (Madrigal), and Eric Burgeson in (Shyanne). A lot of other names I read on this site bring back so many memories.
