Comments: Looking for information on the band One Hand Clapping. I am looking for this information to someday give to his son and to post a memorial on blogs like this one. Red passed away several years ago. Anything, recollections if you knew the band and its members, live recording of its music. Any posters or flyers. (They produced three albums but the rest of their music is lost unless I can reconstruct it. All of Reds note books with his songs were lost upon his death.) Any information about or the whereabouts of the band members. Mark Willett, Richard Dean, Dan Abernathy, Red Erickson, Stephen Whynott, Kim Cory, Red Erickson, Bobby Nachtsheim, Kirk Tuttle, Mark Willett, Joel Eide, Pat Hewett, John Keski, Larry Biancalana, Bob DelPoe, Eric Ring, Craig Andrews, Tom Parham. Comments: Wow what a trip! Now that it looks like things are rapping up I find this site. My daughter found this site looking for work at the ranch in E'burg. Crazy huh, she wants to work hay in the Valley. Anyway...memories of The Nash Band, Lucky Pierre, Appaloosa and on and on! Had to share what my dad said about the Ranch. Remember when the bathroom floors were five inches deep in water? Turns out the old guy living behind The Ranch used to turn in the irrigation water for the weekend just to give the partiers hell! Never stopped us though. Thanks for all the tunes guys and some awesome memories! Remember rockin the house at The Brick until it felt like the walls were swelling and the floor would give way! Also condolences to Nash and Tom Stinson's family and friends. Saddened at his death this past year. Sure all the old rockers are jammin' the house down in the Great Beyond! Will be joining you all some day , until then...Rock On!

Comments: I was born and raised in Portland. I sang in a band in 1961 called the Creshendo's. I opened for Jerry Wallace and the Infamous KGON live Ventures Recording. I was only 11 years old, and somewhat of a young local phenomena. Jerry Wallace who was also a talent scout for Sun Records, thought I fit perfectly in the Stevie Wonder child star category, but my Dad also a local guitar player, played many jobs out there with Arkie and His Jolly Cowboys, thought differently lol, and squashed my opportunity of a life time. Something he regretted later. The first incarnation of the band had kingsman don galucci on piano along with two of his horn players. he soon left the band. and don mckinney joined who eventually became Don and the Goodtimes. we covered songs of the day and past. It was the most thrilling time of my life as a performer. Im having a blast now too. Im sad not to see our name included with one of the most important nights in portland radio of that time. Live Ventures recording, they recorded us too, never got a copy tho, but also, KGON changed their musical format, went from country to rocknroll baby!!

Comments: This note is a few years old and is from Harry Wilson ~ "I played with The Casuals (60 -63) The Dynamics (63-65) The Springfield Rifle (66-71) Johnny Rusk (71-75) and Push (75-79). I went to work for Boeing (where I am still working) in 79. I play with a band called Legends (used to be Play It Again Sam). It is a 7 piece group and we have some real heavy players. Everyone in the band has a pretty stellar past - which spurred the name. We (Legends members) have played with The Dynamics, Springfield Rifle, Kingsmen, Burgundy Express, Jimmy Hanna Big Band, Push and The Rock & Roll All-Stars. Back in the late 70s early 80's at the last minute, we really needed a good drummer for a big party at the old 128th ST Holiday Inn, Everett which is no longer there. Through good fortune with a connection to a top pro Seattle area drummer, who Suzie Ballman was taking lesson from, set her up with us to play drums on this gig. Suzie really impressed us and turned out to be an unforgettable personality and what a great drummer! She played tight in the pocket and had a great groove. We have all wondered what happened to her and trust she has enjoyed great fortune in life. Its been so long ago!!!Her Band sweetness and light in Trio format, really impressed me. I well recall the very attractive blond woman who wore silver braided snake like bracelets that ran up both arms I recall sweetness and light playing the tune "TAKIN CARE OF BUSINESS" (BTO TUNE) Very Sexy I might add. She was playing left hand key bass I believe and of course Suzie on drums..I had heard she became a booking agent? Suzie, if you read this hope you are doing well. You are, I am sure, the same beautiful woman we admired playing great drums that night with us. You remain one of my all time favorite drummers and music personalities as well. Our guitar player Nelson I believe had a crush on you, yet it was never meant to be.

Comments: I was a bartender at the Island Pub on south end (Freeland)Whidbey Island where I met Tommy(cadilac)Katica my folks were actually good friends with his both stayed on whidbey weekends and both lived on queen ann I happened to see in loving memory of Tommy I haven't seen him or his wife since 1985 or 6 or ? they used to come in the pub quite often and Tom informed me he had retierd from Jr cadilac please tell me he's ok Tommy was full of life when I knew him I'm 59 yrs I can't imagine him not being in this world I got plenty of storys to tell about the old G note and the brotherhood and so on please send an update thanks much

Comments: Occasionally I google 'The Breakers' and was excited to find this site. As the owner from 1969 to 1996, I remember your band well ... a favorite to many. I took over the business when my husband Harry died in 1980. You would have worked with the manager at the time. I had 2 young sons and worked office hours mostly. And yes .. I was there that horrible Sunday when drinking started with Expo '86 in Canada! What a shock that was after years of Canadians flocking across the border to drink in the US on Sundays! And The Breakers had just reopened after the fire! The wheel had to be reinvented and I began bringing in as many "big" bands on Sat. nights as possible. Regulars were Colin James, April Wine, Kim Mitchell, Trooper, Doug and the Slugs, Barney Bentall, and Long John Baldry (sorry to those I cannot recall at the moment). Also had Steppenwolf, Chubby Checker and The Committments. With the popular long weekend Sundays, big bands, bingo and gambling ... business was good again. There has been a lot of speculation regarding why The Breakers closed ... The big reason is that drinking and driving had become history. The Wa. State liquor control board were on a mission to shut us down by continuously planting undercover agents in the bar. It was impossible to patrol 999 customers drinking .. and know how much they had consumed before entering The Breakers. Inhalator vans were waiting for our customers when they crossed the border back into Canada. Another reason was that the Canadian dollar was no longer "pegged" at 85 cents in relation to the US dollar. The Cdn. dollar became stronger and all of The Breakers expenses were US. It was impossible to change the price of beer on a weekly basis ... or to charge exchange like everyone does today. The Breakers was a landmark. I still hear the stories. Great for my now adult sons to hear. I would love to know how many couples met at The Breakers and married. I sold The Breakers to Nick Kiniski in 1996 and by 2000 it was closed. There have been 2 more owners since then who are just holding the waterfront property with nothing particular in mind. Thank you Wallstreet for all of the enjoyment you gave to our customers, for having this site, and I hope life has been good to all of you!!

Comments: HELP!! I have some live early 70's tape of "Wildroot" at Medicine Man Charlie's Vanouver. I do not have a player so I am looking for someone with a player so I can see if they are worth putting on DVD. If they play at all, for me it would be more that worth it. Those were wonderful days.
