I got a call from Lloyd Poole asking if I was interested in joining Tight Shoes. I was very apprehensive at first because I was not crazy about the band. A friend convinced me that it would be a good choice since they were constantly working.
As soon as I joined I realised that these people liked to party as much as I did! It became a well known fact that while the rest of the bands practiced, we partied and now it was our turn to play!
It turns out that we were the most pampered band at Kebo's in Moses Lake and feared at Golden Gate in Port Angeles. We had to drive our truck to the Sheriff's Office while being chased by bikers with chains. Then saved by Bambi, the Sheriff's wife... Just like a movie! A never ending one.
We hired Chuck Gnarley Wagner from Moses Lake as a lead singer and drinking buddy as Sarge exited the band . We were singing Elton John's hit from the early 80's: "I Guess that's why Sarge's leavin' Tight Shoes". In 1985 we followed Sarge's footsteps and quit at the same time.
